How Consignment Works
Consignment at Room Swap is straightforward and hassle-free. You bring in your quality furniture or treasures, we evaluate it, and if it's a good fit for our showroom, we'll display and sell it for you. When it sells, you get paid. No yard sales, no online listings, no dealing with buyers. We handle everything.
1. Bring It In
Stop by during business hours with photos of your items, or bring smaller pieces directly to our showroom. For larger furniture or estate contents, contact us to discuss pickup options.
2. We Evaluate
We'll assess your items for quality, condition, and market demand. We're looking for pieces that are clean, functional, and in good condition. Not everything makes the cut, but we'll give you honest feedback.
3. We Display & Sell
Accepted items go on our showroom floor where they're marketed to our steady stream of customers. We handle pricing, display, and all customer interactions.
4. You Get Paid
When your item sells, you receive your consignment percentage! Standard consignor payout of 40%. Payouts are given as checks, Venmo, or Paypal for flexibility!
What We Accept
We're selective about what goes on our showroom floor because we want every piece to reflect quality and value. Here's what we look for:
Furniture
Quality pieces in good condition including sofas, chairs, tables, dressers, beds, cabinets, and more. Both vintage and contemporary styles welcome.
Home Decor
Lamps, artwork, mirrors, rugs, and decorative items that complement furniture pieces. Items should be clean and in excellent condition.
Books & Media
Collectible books, vintage vinyl records, and interesting media items.
Vintage Items
Vintage apparel, jewelry, collectibles, and unique finds that have character and appeal. Authenticity and condition matter.
What we typically don't accept: Items with significant damage, stains, or wear; outdated electronics; incomplete furniture sets. Mattresses. China hutches. Used appliances.
We Also Buy Outright
In addition to consignment, we purchase select items directly. If you're in the Charleston area, the Lowcountry, or nearby, we can discuss pickup for larger collections.
Quality Furniture
We buy furniture pieces that we know will move quickly. Bring items by for evaluation, or contact us about larger collections.
Estate Contents
